  1. My husband’s family came from Whitby. They lived in Esk Terrace just outside the lifeboat shed. They were all mixed up with the lifeboat and when my husband was two he was given a large model of the then lifeboat by the lifeboat men. Anyway It is nice to see so many photos of the place. I have to admit that I cannot comment on the photographic side of things because all I see is familiar places and views in Whitby. I have not been to Whitby since the last of the Victorians died.

  2. I love these pictures Richard, we took the family to Whitby for a significant wedding anniversary as we had never been there before, we also called in at Robin Hood’s Bay on the way back. What a stunning area.
