A peer on Foundations in Photography has commented that eye’s come up as a theme for me throughout my photography. I have cropped a few photos which had eye’s within them develop a test series to see if eyes have the potential to become a future project. It’s certainly something to bear in mind. If at some point I decide to take this further I will make new photos in which eyes are the point of focus.
I saw your comment when I was on the pc, so I had a look for it. I found her portraits, particularly liked Richard O’Brian, but couldn’t find the horse eye.
I think I’m going to take a few of my eyes as well.
That’s a fab post. Eyes are really important to me, but probably for a different reason. Having a traumatic childhood meant that observing eyes and learning to read them was about avoiding pain and seeking safety
Eyes are so interesting. In my youth when I was very interested in art I did a mural on our youth club wall which just eyes. They are the gateway to the mind!
Not for a long time Richard, I would really like to but feel that I have lost something that I am still searching for now with photography. I found painting when I was in my late teens a hugely cathartic experience, maybe that was to do with the angst of youth and perhaps now I am too content?
I love this experimentation. I have wanted to do this always but haven’t got around to it though I have some interesting close of different animal eyes. Its such a great project in itself. lovely Richard. Its a pity that am catching up on it so late.
It would be good to see your interpretation Archna. Some of these photos I made specifically, the animals, but the human eyes were from previous portraits.
They look quite surreal. Have you seen the late Jane Bown’s close up image of a horse’s eye? An interesting project to follow up Richard.

It’s beautiful, I could melt into it. The testimonial to her life was such a sweet thing to read. A much loved person.

Really striking, particularly against your new yellow background.

What do you think of the new theme and colour scheme?

To be honest, it was a bit of a shock at first until I got used to it but it was just right for the eyes.

Thanks for your opinion Catherine. Im going to let myself take some time to make a final decision, but I’m keeping this one until then.

I more than ‘like’ this I love this! Eyes! (or as I call them ‘ize”) I am obsessed by photoing my cat’s eyes – (and I even write about ‘ize” – https://blastandbother.blogspot.com/2011/10/ized-by-eyes.html)

I love this! Similarities and differences. Points of view.

Thanks Jennifer. I bet that no matter how many eyes there are, there are never two expressions the same.

They are – they say far more than what we realise.
Do you still paint?

Yeah that makes sense to me. I struggle to write poetry unless my mood is dark.
